01 / FIND YOUR BEARINGS
Krillion is an open-answer game: you supply a response instead of picking from a list. The daily set is shared, but the route you take through it is yours.
A category is a boundary. Check the place, time period, initial letter, or other qualifier before settling on an answer.
You have 25 seconds per prompt. Recall a few possibilities, then commit to one that clearly fits.
Accepted answers earn points that become dive depth. Less obvious choices can take you farther; seven rounds make one daily dive.
02 / BELOW THE SURFACE
Every point becomes 10 metres. A 700-point run reaches 7,000 metres. Treat depth as a way to read your score, not a reason to gamble on an answer you cannot justify.
Read the creator’s scoring FAQ ↗The creator describes answer sets assembled from reference datasets. Scoring varies by question and can combine familiarity data, LLM assistance and manual review.
The creator says the Krillion answer also considers how satisfying it is to find. The most obscure thing you can name is not automatically the best choice.
The accepted set may have omissions. Keep the exact prompt in mind when reviewing an unexpected rejection, and use the original game’s support options.
03 / BUILD A BETTER INSTINCT
A useful answer is specific, defensible and ready before the clock runs out. These are practice habits, not promises about a particular answer’s score.
If your first idea comes from recent headlines, try a different decade, region or subject you know well. Move to another mental shelf instead of searching the same one harder.
Hold onto one answer you are sure fits. Explore another option briefly, but keep the reliable one available if you cannot check the alternative in time.
A precise name from your own knowledge is easier to defend than a half-remembered exception. If the prompt asks for a city, do not drift into a region or a country.
After a round, ask what narrowed the category and why your answer fit or failed. That habit transfers to tomorrow’s topics better than memorising today’s result.
